New Voice for Swiss Cardiovascular Science
At a time when scientific publishing is expanding at an unprecedented pace with thousands of journals competing for attention and new platforms emerging almost weekly, we are launching the Swiss Journal of Cardiovascular Research. In this dense and often confusing landscape, visibility is not given; it must be deliberately created.
For me, research has never been auxiliary but the driving force behind progress in cardiovascular medicine. It challenges assumptions, sharpens clinical judgment, and ultimately improves patient care.
Switzerland’s cardiovascular medicine is internationally respected. Swiss institutions produce high-quality research, clinicians contribute to global trials, and the trainees represent the next generation of innovation; however, this excellence is dispersed widely across numerous international journals. What has been missing so far is a focused platform bringing these achievements together under a clear national identity.
This new journal aims to provide exactly that: a visible and coherent voice for Switzerland’s cardiovascular sciences: rooted in the local community yet internationally connected. The initiative is supported by Rosenfluh Publikationen, one of Switzerland’s most established medical publishing houses. With decades of experience, a strong national distribution network, and proven editorial infrastructure, Rosenfluh provides a foundation for long-term stability, quality assurance, and sustainable growth.
The strategy is chosen deliberately. Reviews synthesize evidence, define standards, and influence clinical practice. By beginning with the publication of high- quality peer-reviewed review articles, we establish scientific rigor and build credibility, coherence, and reach. As the journal matures, the goal is to expand towards original research, guided by quality, sustainability, and the commitment to the scientific community.
The Swiss Journal of Cardiovascular Research does not seek to compete with major international journals. It merely aims to strengthen the local scientific ecosystem, support colleagues in the beginning and throughout their careers, and promote Swiss excellence in a clear and purposeful manner.
Strong communities define their own platforms. Together, we have the opportunity to create one that embodies ambition, responsibility, and leadership.
Let us build it with a vision.
